Finding Time to Keep on Task

I’ve noticed that whenever I decide to embark upon a new project, it seems as though the universe conspires to push as many obstacles as possible in my way.  Bad weather, special work projects, family responsibilities,  invitations to go out, the Winter Olympics, Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Revenge, the Internet, Facebook,  anything really, that gets me off task.  Yes, sometimes I can have trouble staying focused.  Okay, make that a lot of times.  Scratch that, daily.  Yes, daily.

I decided that no matter what, this year, I have set a few goals and I really intend on keeping them.  The sacrifice is that my poor hubby has to go to bed alone, because I get my jolt of java around midnight.  I also no longer make long phone calls with friends and family a priority. (I just said, I would let myself get easily distracted by just about anything).  I’m trying to cut back on my favorite shows – if they would just end already!! (J/K – dear Shonda Rhimes, please never let Grey’s come to an end!!)

Where was I?  Okay trying to wax philosophical on time, and the lack of it.  Or rather, trying to find the time to do the things you want to do, without sacrificing your loved ones time with you. I’d like to hear from you.  What keeps  you motivated to stay on track?  How do you find the time to do the things that mean a lot to you, but fall somewhere in the “I’ll get to it when I get to it” place?  Particularly to parents, how do you do it?
